Breakout Sessions on Hitting, Pitching & Defense
Cal, Bill and John cover every aspect of the game, moving through the fundamentals required for success to the advanced drills that can give your players and edge.
Interactive drill demonstrations - get on stage with Cal, Bill & John!
Throughout the clinic, coaches will have the unique opportunity to climb on-stage and work alongside Cal Ripken, Jr., Bill Ripken and John Habyan to demonstrate complex drills for the audience.
Direct Q&A sessions
Have a question and just can't find the answer? Ask the guys who have spent more than four decades in the major leagues.

Tickets for the banquet must be purchased at our office. They are $25.00/pp (the Boy and Girl of the Year are free). The deadline to purchase your tickets is February 24, 2012. Tickets will not be sold at the door.

posted 12/27/2011 To Join a Boys & Girls Club in Your Area
Contact the Membership person for information about registering a child into that club. Club Contact Information
Club's are created by specific boundaries. Choose the club that is in your area, call the Membership Person to verify that your address is in that club's boundaries.
To join a team, the child must be registered with his/her local club first. To avoid delays, please have a copy of the child's Birth Certificate and a current color photo (1 1/2" x 2" size) available.

| Background Check Procedure | | | | | | |
posted 12/01/2011 Procedure for our Coaches Background Checks. We have partnered with the National Center for Safety Intitiatives to implement a standardized approach to background screening for our coaches and volunteers.
All Background Checks will be done online through this self-registration program and results will be a simple "Red Light/Green Light" clearance report issued in accordance with the criteria chosen by PGCBGC.
Results generally take 10 business days to complete.
A letter was mailed to clubs to inform them of this new procedure.

A child will only be put on a roster when he/she has been totally cleared. The following is needed to get a santioned Membership ID:

| COACHES - Eliminate Roster Problems | | | | | | |

Take the Time to Eliminate Roster Problems
During every sport season, several players are declared ineligible due to problems with the OFFICIAL ROSTERS. If a child is not totally cleared and given a yellow laminated card he/she will not be on the PGCBGC OFFICIAL ROSTER and therefore will be ILLEGAL to play until he/she receives a Yellow Laminated Card.
The following should be checked on your rosters to avoid problems during your season:

Names are not listed on the Roster
-
Nick Names are used
-
Player’s do not reside in the Club’s area
-
Dues are not paid
To eliminate these problems, it is strongly recommended that prior to the first game coaches must check their rosters in person at our office. Please call 301-446-6800 to make an appointment with someone on our staff.

If your badge is stamped with 2008 or older - you MUST RENEW.

| New Office Procedures | | | | | | |
posted 08/08/2011 Beginning with the 2011 Fall Sports Programs (Flag Football, Tackle Football and Fall Soccer) the following new procedures will take effect in order to produce a more efficient processing period:

ID Check Appointments will be used for dropping off material to our staff. Club membership/coaches/commissioners will no longer be allowed to sit and wait for players ID cards to be made.

YELLOW CARDS (player's laminated ID Cards) will not be given out DURING appointments. They will be available 3-5 days AFTER the paperwork is turned in to our office staff.

Black & White photos will not be accepted for ID Cards. Therefore, faxed photos will not be accepted.
REMINDER:
The Player's ID Card MUST be stamped with 2009, 2010 or 2011
If your ID Card is stamped with 2008 or older - you MUST RENEW.

posted 06/29/2011 Effective immediately we will ONLY be accepting payment for membership dues on the official dues form (link below).
It is adobe PDF writeable so you are able to type in the fields and either submit by email (by clicking the “submit by email” button at the top of the page) or you can print by clicking at the top of the page. Click on the link to pull up the new form.
Remember that your Membership Dues List should ONLY include names for members that you are paying for on this list. Anyone that has not paid, should not be on this list. Thank you.
