All Presidents, Football and Soccer Commissioners
FIELD PERMITS – DUE NOT LATER THAN JUNE 30, 2012
Fall Soccer and Football requests for use of The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission fields only must be submitted to 7833 Walker Dr., Suite 430, Greenbelt, MD 20770 on or before this date.
Permits for use of school fields must be secured from the school.
Forms can be mailed, faxed, or emailed.

2012 Season "Hot Wash" Meeting
Friday, May 18, 2012 at 7:00 PM
Sports & Learning Complex, Blue Bird Room
The purpose of the meeting is to review the past football season and talk about the good, the bad and the ugly of the program with the intent of improving it for next season. We hope everyone who has an interest in the Prince George's County football program will attend. We want to improve our football program and the more comments and suggestions we receive the more we can work to make it better. Some topics to be discussed:

Football clinics and Coaches Certification

Post season play
If you are interested in improving the PGCBGC football program, please attend this meeting. Please notify all coaches of this meeting. Any suggestions you want to bring up and want to place on the agenda should be forwarded to me at

This will be the last “Hot Wash” before the Commissioners meeting, June 27, 2012 and the start of the 2012 season. We will finalize all 2012 details for the program at this meeting for presentation at the commissioners meeting.

| To Join A Club | | | | | | |
posted 04/27/2012 To Join a Boys & Girls Club in Your Area
Contact the Membership person for information about registering a child into that club. Club Contact Information
Club's are created by specific boundaries. Choose the club that is in your area, call the Membership Person to verify that your address is in that club's boundaries.
To join a team, the child must be registered with his/her local club first. To avoid delays, please have a copy of the child's Birth Certificate and a current color photo (1 1/2" x 2" size) available.

| Clubs Must Pay Past Membership Dues | | | | | | |

have a zero balance
-
bring a check for new membership for those that are playing a current sport

posted 01/30/2012 Standings & Schedules are posted under the individual sport. You will find each SPORT TAB at the top of this page. Click on the sport to get to a separate site dedicated to that sport. There you will find LOTS of information updated often.
Under each SPORT TAB, there will be a Schedule button on the LEFT MENU of the page. This is where you can also find the current Standings.
Standings are also noted on the NEWS HEADLINE of each page. Click on the link to get to the Standings area.

| Background Check Procedure | | | | | | |
posted 12/01/2011 Procedure for our Coaches Background Checks. We have partnered with the National Center for Safety Intitiatives to implement a standardized approach to background screening for our coaches and volunteers.
All Background Checks will be done online through this self-registration program and results will be a simple "Red Light/Green Light" clearance report issued in accordance with the criteria chosen by PGCBGC.
Results generally take 10 business days to complete.
A letter was mailed to clubs to inform them of this new procedure.

A child will only be put on a roster when he/she has been totally cleared. The following is needed to get a santioned Membership ID:

| COACHES - Eliminate Roster Problems | | | | | | |

Take the Time to Eliminate Roster Problems
During every sport season, several players are declared ineligible due to problems with the OFFICIAL ROSTERS. If a child is not totally cleared and given a yellow laminated card he/she will not be on the PGCBGC OFFICIAL ROSTER and therefore will be ILLEGAL to play until he/she receives a Yellow Laminated Card.
The following should be checked on your rosters to avoid problems during your season:

Names are not listed on the Roster
-
Nick Names are used
-
Player’s do not reside in the Club’s area
-
Dues are not paid
To eliminate these problems, it is strongly recommended that prior to the first game coaches must check their rosters in person at our office. Please call 301-446-6800 to make an appointment with someone on our staff.

| New Office Procedures | | | | | | |
posted 08/08/2011 Beginning with the 2011 Fall Sports Programs (Flag Football, Tackle Football and Fall Soccer) the following new procedures will take effect in order to produce a more efficient processing period:
-
ID Check Appointments will be used for dropping off material to our staff. Club membership/coaches/commissioners will no longer be allowed to sit and wait for players ID cards to be made.
-
YELLOW CARDS (player's laminated ID Cards) will not be given out DURING appointments. They will be available 3-5 days AFTER the paperwork is turned in to our office staff.
-
Black & White photos will not be accepted for ID Cards. Therefore, faxed photos will not be accepted.

posted 06/29/2011 Effective immediately we will ONLY be accepting payment for membership dues on the official dues form (link below).
It is adobe PDF writeable so you are able to type in the fields and either submit by email (by clicking the “submit by email” button at the top of the page) or you can print by clicking at the top of the page. Click on the link to pull up the new form.
Remember that your Membership Dues List should ONLY include names for members that you are paying for on this list. Anyone that has not paid, should not be on this list. Thank you.
